The lining is Nylon and the shiny side is facing away from your childs food.
Wash in with your dishes and hang to dry. They will usually dry overnight, I don't recommend putting them in the washer and dryer, the velcro likely won't stand up to that for very long.

Tanya! I love these! Thanks to a grant at our kids' school - my kids got these for free (one for every student at the school!). They are amazing... I thought with the velcro closing that crackers and such would fall out - NO WAY! Everything stays in! And even though it says not to throw in the dryer - whoops - they went through and they still look fabulous - and the velcro stayed on (as it's sewn in, not adhesive kind).
Great eco product and saves tons on ziploc bags... plus these are a lot more fun than lock n lock containers -- cuter for school-aged children (and those young at heart!).
I definitely recommend these!
